Types:
Partner visa (Temporary): subclass 820
The applicant must be present in Australia while applying for the visa. This is a temporary visa that would lead to a permanent Partner visa.
Partner visa (Permanent): subclass 801
The applicant must have a temporary Partner Visa (subclass 820). This visa will allow the applicant to live in Australia for an indefinite time period.
Partner (Provisional) visa: subclass 309
The applicant can live in Australia temporarily. This visa is often regarded as the first step to getting a permanent Partner visa. However, you are required to be outside Australia while you apply for the visa.
Partner (Migrant) visa: subclass 100
The applicant can live in Australia permanently. It is granted to those individuals who already hold a temporary Partner visa (subclass 309).
